Kelley: Everything is going to be okay baby, mama is here for you. Even if daddy is no longer here I'll be here for you always.
I'm sorry for your lose Kelley.
Kelley: Who are you? Where are you for that matter?
I'm the narrator, I tell the story of those that live here in Rose Creek.
Kelley: I see.. Well I might as well tell you how John died.
Kelley: John's illness hit suddenly. There was nothing that could have been done. He died before the paramedics arrived. The doctor figured out he had been sick for awhile and never told anyone, that if he had gotten treatment he could have survived.
Kelley: Once the funeral was over we placed John's tombstone out back so he would always be close.
Well now that you showed me the house, can you tell me what your lifetime want is so I know what you aspire to do in your life?
Kelley: I want to earn $100,000 in my life. I would love to get a job as an architect so that is the job I'm going to look for.
That is a good goal to have. Work hard after you get your job so you can get promoted. First of course you have to care for Alice and find if the job you want is available in the paper.
Kelley: The first thing I did once we got into the house was take Alice to the potty. I need to potty train her as soon as possible so I don't have to deal with dirt diapers.
Kelley: A mysterious man who called himself Mr. Humble came by and left a gift at the door. I wonder what it is?
Kelley: It's a computer! I bought a desk and chair so I could eventually get one, but now I can save that money for something else.
Kelley: I then decided to start teaching Alice how to walk.
Kelley: While I was doing that a 'welcome' wagon came to the door.
Oh look it's the Welcome Wagon, Monica Weldon as well as two unimportant townies.
Monica Weldon: Hi, I'm the neighbor from across the street. I have no idea who those two guys with me are though. As far as I know they don't have a house in Rose Creek.
Kelley: Well hello Monica. I'm Kelley Marshall. It's just me and my daughter Alice who is a toddler here. I lost her father a short while ago to illness.
Monica: Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I live with my partner, her father and our three kids. We had donors and we have no idea who they are. We have three kids, David, Jason and Lisa. David and Jason are teens, but Jason is mine while David and Lisa, who is a child, are Stacey, my partners.
Kelley: Well I'd like to meet your family sometime, maybe once Alice has grown into a child she and Lisa can be friends.
Monica: I'm happy you are open minded Ms. Marshall.
Kelley: I'm very happy to meet you Mrs. Waldon.
Now that the Welcome Wagon has left, looks like it's time to make dinner.
Kelley: That's right. I'm making Mac and Cheese.
Kelley: It's started snowing!
It's still spring so sometimes it gets cold enough to snow. Lucky you, where I live it might not even snow in the winter, although it can get cold enough.
Kelley: With lots of work I was able to teach Alice how to walk.
Kelley: Then when I checked the computer to look for the job I wanted again, this time I found it. I start as a Cement Mixer, but I can work my way up.
Kelley: Alice really needed a bath after she woke from her nap. And now the bathtub needs to be cleaned.
Kelley started teaching Alice how to talk next.
Kelley: Say mama!
Alice:Mama, mama!
Kelley: Yes! mama loves you baby.
Kelley: It took several attempts, but Alice is now potty trained.
Kelley: Say 'high chair'
Alice: chair
Kelley: Close enough anyway.
Kelley: It was time for Alice to grow into a child. I got a cake for her.
Alice grew up with platinum aspiration.
Alice: Wow, that was awesome! I feel so great!
Alice: Yum, cake!
Kelley: After this it's bed time. I got you a big girl bed, just like mine.
Alice: Yes, mom. I can't wait to sleep in my new bed!
Kelley: I realized I should have done this yesterday, but as I had the day off I didn't think about it. The carpool comes in an hour and I need to hire a nanny for the ONE hour I'll be at work. I wish the law was a little more flexible about leaving your kids home for one hour.
Well, I wish the nanny was only necessary for toddlers myself. Kids can take care of themselves, especially if the ridge us full of leftovers and all the nanny feeds them is jello anyway.
Back from the first day of school. How was it.
Alice: My grades could be better, but it was just the first day. But I did bring a friend I made at school home with me.
Oh look, it's Lisa Waldon. Welcome Lisa.
Lisa Waldon: What?
Alice: It's the narrator.
Lisa: Oh, right. Mama Monica told me about that.
Alice and Lisa played for a bit, but then Lisa had to go home.
Kelley: So that is how you do multiplication.
Alice: Okay, I get it now, thanks mom.
Kelley helped Alice learn how to study.
Kelley wants to make sure Alice never forgets she will always love her little girl.
Alice: I have some time before the bus comes, so I'm playing the Sims 3. Turns out I REALLY like games.
Kelley: I've been promoted to Brick layer.
Congratulations! (I forgot to take a screen shot of it, sorry.)
Alice: I have a B+ now, but I could still do better.
Well just keep doing what you have been doing. Do your homework and get to school on time and in a good mood. Your grade shall improve again in no time.
Kelley: I decided, on a whim, to try some arts and craft activities. It seems that Alice's preferred hobby is games. I find that I like arts and crafts better.
Kelley: I had gone to sleep before I remembered that I needed to study some Mechanical skill for my next promotion at work. It didn't take long however.
Alice: It's Saturday, the one day that mom hiring a nanny makes sense as she is working from 8am to 3pm. I decided to play Sims 3 and get my hobby enthusiasm up.
Alice: I was talking to Lisa on the phone when this guy from the gamers hobby lot came by with a membership for me. Neat.
Alice: I then decided to brows the internet for games.
Kelley: I got home to find the nanny left a half-cooked meal on the counter, so I cooked it before it spoiled. We each managed to get one bowl before it went bad. At least I won't need to make dinner now.
Kelley: I felt the pottery wheel was to expensive so I sold it and bought an easel instead. I will get the pottery wheel later when I have more money. I will also get the sewing machine.
Alice: It's Sunday. I went to bed so early I work up early. I wanted to play some computer games, I'll just take a nap later.
Fine, but you better not wake up at 3am tomorrow, it's a school day.
Alice: I'll take a nap after I play some chess.
Kelley: After Alice woke up from her nap we decided to do some clothes shopping. I also picked out a game for her as a bit of a late birthday present.
Alice: I like this look much better.
Alice: The new game mom got i great!
Kelley: It's nice to have some time to spend with you Alice.
Alice: I like it too, mom. Eating meals with you is nice.
Kelley: Who did this? What a jerk! If we get cockroaches I'm going to sue when I find out who it was! We could get sick from those vermin!
I'm sorry to say you can't sue them, but I think you might have cleaned it up in time to prevent roaches.
Alice: I wanted to fish so mom had a small pond built in the backyard. I caught a catfish on the second try.
Kelley: I got a membership for the arts and crafts lot.
Kelley: I decided we should have spaghetti for dinner.
Kelley: Make sure you go to bed by 10 Alice.
Alice: Yes, mom.
Kelley: I see you put that fish you caught on the wall.
Alice: Yep, I forgot to do it last night.
Kelley: Oh, my car pool is here. I'll see you when I get home from work.
Alice: Okay, love you mom. Have a good day at work.
We leave with Kelley leaving for work and Alice waiting for her school bus at 8am on Monday. Next is the Weldon household.
